Being Juicy and Healthy Update

Screen Shot 2017-02-01 at 1.28.21 AMSo guess who just finished her 21 day juice cleanse! I did! Well I finished last week and it was amazing. I had such a journey going on and finishing. I am now down 16 pounds and feel great. I’m well on my way to a healthy lifestyle journey.

The Pros
It wasn’t only the weight loss that I gained, I actually had a lot of energy. Some people wanted to know if I worked out and yes I did. I worked out about 3 times a week. My goal is to get up to four times a week but my couch is really comfortable. HA! I also took a full body picture, two actually and wasn’t nervous about it. I was proud of myself.

The Cons
When I was on my period, it was the worst because I had cravings for weird things but I knew if I gave in I would jack up my stomach so I didn’t. I had a huge moment of weakness where I just wanted to eat everything and fall back into old habits but my boo thang was like don’t do it! He didn’t know how much his life was in danger because I was ready to literally chew his arm I was so hungry and cranky. I also noticed my face broke out a lot. I had these huge pimples pop up and it was because of the detox. They are going away now but it’s still a bit of a struggle. Also, I got really constipated towards the end. My sister (QB not QE) suggested it was because I was eating too many bananas? I started making these protein shakes so I could work out with energy and I got backed up. It wasn’t until I started eating salads did this let up. Ewww.

Overall it was a positive experience but I’m glad I won’t have to do it until next January! I am still going to juice and have smoothies everyday because it is apart of my lifestyle. Getting those nutrients into my body are important and who am I kidding? I’m not going to eat all my greens any other way. I’ll post my recipes when I get the chance I promise! I post a lot of what I’m making on my Instagram so please check me out and follow @boujiemack of course!
